Feral Fam Lost and Found

TNR and homeless cat adoption story

We are committed to the humane treatment and care of feral cats through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs and other essential needs at Peace Corner, ensuring that these animals can live healthy lives without contributing to overpopulation while enjoying a safe space to rest.

When a cat shows interest in having a home or a kitten is scooped effort is made to socialize and habilitation for family life indoors. This page is created to showcase a friend or pair bond, meaning two cats who are one another's family, available for adoption.

There are no fees required. Donation to support the care of the cat or the next fur friend is appreciated.

An application is part of the process of matching fur with a forever home. Please fill the form out and email to whcria@mail.com. Write or call with questions.

Donations can be made via the link or in person. 100% of funds go to the care of the cat or other fur buddies in rehab or to TNR neighborhood cats. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Our Story

In 2022, lying dead on the curb was a kitten. Deceased before we could get back from dropping off a neighbor. Having just heard about kittens under a porch planned to borrow a small trap, get the kittens, and find homes.

Sad to say we lost one. The other was trapped within an hour. Starving and depleted in appearance. Above is the day one and one year later photo. Floofe' on a 5K mile road trip to the west coast and southern stages.

Floofe's three-legged mom became known as Mamma Smalls. After a few neighbors realized in Spring 2025, she was visiting their home, and having litter after litter. We combined names and planned a solution. Something needed to be done to curb the birthrate and coordinate care for the now grown-up siblings. Numbering over a dozen. Both indoor cats and some are now feral.

Spring head to 2025, Mamma Smalls brings two kittens to meet a neighbor. One is scooped. The other was allusive to being trapped. The scooped kitten meets her older sibling. A resident of the neighborhood. The inspiration for creating a pet finder type of page for the kitties being socialized for indoor life. If feral the process can take a few years, but often less time.

A neighbor has several four-floor, two-bedroom, private bathrooms, and small kitchenette condos set up with care from spay and neuter, to quality meals and daily socialization.

If cats are pair bonded they share a condo. These will be adopted together. Single cats are rare. Typically, feral cats bond with another cat. These will not be separated. If a cat, such as the kitten, can not be mature with a sibling, or parent, every effort will be made to find a home with a dog, cat, rabbit, or some other fur friend to help keep one another company. This reduces anxiety often associated with cats who have lost a feral parent, too early in life before six weeks. Social life is important to cats. Especially if they are part of a colony.

What is noticed locally, is that pair bonds claim a territory and may allow other cats to participate in meals or housing spaces. But not all are welcome. The females are in charge. Called Queen. Everyone behaves accordingly. Every effort is made to keep pair bonded cats together.

Peace Corner donation garden offers shaded spaces during exhaustive summer heated days. Efforts are being made to build several houses for winter shelters and support the well-being of cats who live within the corner block and frequent the garden.

The garden with feral and stray cats promotes lessons of empathy for local children who take an interest in the well-being of the homeless cats. Educating on the different aspects of community cat support supports reducing community cats and colonies. Finding homes for the homeless. And, a happier neighborhood of helpers caring for the disenfranchised.
