Committee winter highlights:

Thank you to the individuals who are filling dozens of city bags with trash throughout the winter. Your kindness help keeps this community clean and happy. We appreciate you!

In partnership with Linn County Master Gardeners, we are conscientiously working together to improve our produce and wildflower gardens. Continuing to meet and implement plans. Develop strategies to connect with neighbors and other gardeners plus urban farmers building relationships. Expand opportunities for the community for food security. Organize fun in combination with gardening and enhance the beauty of Wellington Heights.

With the team approach, begin 2023 at the base of growing a better community together. Build onward from this core.

As the weather improves so will the little library's throughout the community. Reinvigorating our system is a joy for the membership of Wellington Heights Neighbors. From Families who use the libraries together to children stopping by on their way home from school or summer and so many more. One by one we will get them done.

A new technique we will be using is Poor Man's Fiberglass. This will make creating new roofs simple and inexpensive while ensuring the life of the topper lasts up to 15 years until the next paint update. This technique can also be used for other parts of the library if needed.

Do you or someone you know have children ages up to five? How about getting free books monthly? Our community is sponsored through the Cedar Rapids Library from the Imagination Library gifting books.

Inspired by her father’s inability to read and write Dolly Parton started her Imagination Library in 1995 for the children within her home county. Today, her program spans five countries and gifts over 1 million free books each month to children around the world.
